Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP)

What is it?

Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) operates through the conscious use of language (Linguistics) to bring about changes in someone’s thoughts (Neuro) and behavior (what we see as a result of Programming). Understanding the link between these three things, helps us to transform the way we communicate, our internal states and our reactions and attitude towards situations and events.

Where is NLP used?

The people who developed NLP were curious to learn how successful communicators got their results. They modelled these people’s behaviour, copying it and learning how it worked. The techniques of NLP are the results of this process. NLP is used in education, personal development, counselling, business and the health professions.

How does it work?

The key to NLP success is to know your outcome, without a plan how do you know where you are headed? Knowing your outcome will lead you to take action. During this phase, take notice and make sense of feedback both negative and positive so you can learn what works and why. Have behavioural flexibility and operate from an attitude of positive intention towards excellence.
You don’t need to know all these things before you start. NLP Practitioners act as guides to help you discover your answers during these stages.

Why use Time Line Therapy™ ?

Time Line Therapy™ is great for emotionally charged events in your Life that you are struggling to let go of, causing us to be stuck.

How does it work?

As a process, Time Line Therapy™ asks you to imagine going back through time to your past, where the root cause of an event started. Taking care of this first event is a fast and effective means to change the chain of events from the past that lead to a certain set of unwanted behaviours or internal states or experiences.

We are able to go safely back to the past, as we ask you to view the event as if you were to look at it from a distance or through a window, yet still be able to see, hear and feel what happened. We then ask what positive things you could learn from this situation so you are able to let go of the intensity and effects this has over you.

What does it do?

The major techniques it uses are:
Release of negative emotions such as anger, sadness, fear, hurt or guilt so you are no longer a prisoner of your negative emotions.
Removal of limiting decisions; examples include ‘not good enough’, ‘can’t make enough money’, or can’t have a great relationship’ so your potential can be realised.
It gives you a specific program for creating the future the way that you want it

All emotions require time to express their meaning, so a switch across multiple time scales reframes the emotion. When an emotion is reframed, the intensity and way we used to feel about it disappears.
